Professional Model Glove Authentication

PSA authenticates professional model baseball gloves, providing much-needed experience and knowledge to game used glove collectors. As with other collectible types, determining a glove’s authenticity is paramount to satisfying the needs of both buyers and sellers.

By analyzing crucial details, such as the labeling that appears on the glove, the ordering and shipping records, the material, and labeling period, PSA’s authenticators will determine whether your glove was made for and ordered by MLB players throughout history.

Professional Model Glove Authentication Process

Our authenticators have a diverse knowledge base that is complemented by proprietary methods and technology to form the following four-step authentication process.

Step 1

Examination

PSA authenticators examine the glove to confirm authenticity and determine the labeling and the labeling time period.

Step 2

Anti-Counterfeiting

Once the glove is deemed genuine, the leather is marked with invisible ink which contains a synthetic DNA sequence specific to PSA.

Step 3

Certification

A detailed Letter of Authenticity (LOA) is issued to all genuine gloves and includes a unique serial number for verification purposes.

Step 4

Documentation

All authenticated memorabilia is available online for verification. The Certification Verification page will populate the following information: (1) Item Name (2) Primary Subject (3) Make (4) Use Attributes (5) Material (6) Item Era (7) Model (8) Result/Grade.
