PSA Announces Plans for 41st National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago

Newport Beach, CA (July 12, 2021) – After taking a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the hobby’s biggest sports collectibles show of the year is nearly here! The team at PSA is happy to announce that the industry’s leading card grading company will once again be providing on-site authentication and grading services at the fast-approaching 2021 National Sports Collectors Convention (NSCC), which will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, from Wed., July 28, through Sun., August 1.

“Like most hobby enthusiasts, we're excited about the return of the National," said PSA President Steve Sloan. "It'll be a great opportunity for us to connect with customers, fellow hobbyists and business partners.”

PSA (booth #1531) will be providing on-site authentication, grading and encapsulation for all cards including crossovers, reviews and dual-service. We will not be accepting submissions of tickets, packs, coins or pins. In an effort to provide collectors who will be attending the show an opportunity to get their submissions turned around in Chicago, PSA is bringing a small, dedicated team of operations personnel and graders to the event. Please note that PSA is requiring collectors to use the online submission center to place their orders prior to visiting the booth. PSA no longer accepts carbon copy submission forms. Computers and printers will be available at the booth. Please also take note that PSA will not be accepting drop-off submissions for any take-home service levels. Every submission has to be received, graded and returned to customers at the venue.

On-site card grading fees will start at $250 per card and all “End of Show” orders must be submitted and received by Saturday, July 31, at 12 noon CDT. Any “End of Day” orders must be submitted by 12 noon CDT for same-day service. PSA will be encapsulating all sizes of cards including thick memorabilia/patch cards. However, PSA will not be offering on-site bulk discounts at The National, and no existing Collectors Club vouchers will be accepted for on-site service.

On the autograph authentication front, PSA will also be offering a “Show Signer” special for items signed at the show for a discounted rate of $10. A $15 “Single-Signed Baseball” authentication special will also be in effect for any baseballs with an original authentication fee of $35 or less. Autograph encapsulation discounts will be available as well including a $40 “Funko Encapsulation” special for the authentication and encapsulation of autographed vinyl figure boxes with an original authentication fee of $35 or less. Each of these autographed specials apply only to items with a maximum declared value of $200. For additional details on all of PSA’s special pricing at The National, please visit www.PSAcard.com/National.

Also, with its recruitment efforts in full swing, PSA is scheduling on-site interviews for any applicants who will be at the show. If you are interested in pursuing a career at PSA, fill out this form by July 16, 2021, and we’ll reach out to see if we can meet you at the show. If not, visit the PSA careers page and apply directly for a role that interests you.

Lastly, PSA will be giving away 50 FREE “GEM-MT 10” gray T-shirts each day of the show, so make it a point to stop by booth #1531. Sizes will vary depending on availability.
